MY PATH          MY SOUL

I have been studying peoples, ethnic groups, extinct traditions and great ancient empires for a long time. Researching their culture, art and spirituality and showing it in shapes and colors on canvas.

Firstly, in addition to studies on pre-Columbian civilizations in South and Central America, more specifically the Inca, Maya, Aztec, Toltec Empires, among others, I made trips to Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia, for observation "in loco" of these cultures in archaeological sites, among them are: Oyantaytambo, Tyuanaco, Cusco, Machupichu, etc. Which resulted in a series of works exhibited in Cultural spaces in the State of Paraná.

Following the research of Ancient Traditions, I returned my studies to Celtic Culture and Shamanism, through these studies added to meditations and mental visualizations, I took the result to the physical plane that was the series `Between Rites and Mystical Myths`.

In the year 2000, deepening my research on Shamanism and Pajelanca, I traveled to the INSIDE of Amazonia, to the INSIDE of indigenous villages and ended up revealing things from my INNER artistic, spiritual and cultural path. In the villages of the Karajas - Ilha do Bananal, the Xavantes - Mato Grosso, the Asurinis – Para and the Gavioes Parketeje - Reserva Mae Maria - Para, I learned not only the decorative art, but also the ritualistic art of the shamans and warriors, I also learned other pigments like annatto and genipapo, I got to know indigenous graphics, I learned healing herbs and the paje's communication with disembodied entities and their sacred rituals, I learned their relationship with the divine and with mother earth. This resulted in the exhibition INTERIORES, which was presented in several cities in Paraná.

Later, deepening my research on the mysteries of the lines of the Nazca Desert, of the ancient Nazca Empire in Peru, and knowing its pyramidal architecture, its sculptural and pictorial forms, its culture and spirituality, I was sent to compile the entire pictography , the art, the culture of all the peoples previously studied, remembering all the artistic, cultural and spiritual similarity that all these peoples have in common.

Intriguing, that remote tribes, which had no physical intercommunication among themselves, nor access to means of transport, of the most primitive that it was, could erect pyramids in Mexico, similar to those of Egypt, sculptures of Chinese lions almost identical to the Incans, sculptures of gigantic stones like Stonehenge or Ilha da Pasco, ancestral Australian aboriginal crafts that can be confused with Brazilian Marajoara ceramics, and more, similar cosmic and religious rituals in the four corners of the world.

The scope of my art is to show that everything is interconnected, we are all connected by a great invisible Universal network and we communicate with each other (incarnated or not), with nature, with animals and with the UNIVERSE ITSELF through that invisible network An extrasensory communication, immensely stronger, effective and beyond words.

India O’Hara was born in Curitiba, south of Brazil, on May 26Th 1963. Art has always been her gift. In her early years, she showed strong artistic leanings while painting and drawing at home. Her mother then decided to take her along her painting classes at age of eight. From then on, various well-known artists in Brazil oriented her studies and training, each one of them a specialist in a different technique as oil, water collors, crayon, etc. After completing her schooling at “Faculdade de Artes do Paraná”, India decided to leave Brazil in order to look for new influences and styles. Her first stop was in England in 1984 followed by Italy in 1985.

Upon her return to Brazil, the artist awoke to mysticism and began to research the art and spirituality of ancestral cultures. After completing her searches she began a cycle of speeches about the Inca, Mayan and Aztec cultures as well as the interest of seeing and feeling all that “in loco”. Due to her free and adventurous spirit, India undertook a new challenge; she went to Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. There, she tasted those cultures and began representing them from here deepest insights, the exhibition named “Ecos and Rocas” (oil on canvas) were the results of this unique experiences. Subsequently, different journeys took place, but this time she went on interior journeys searching for the deepest meanings of life, death, love and hatred through the four elements; water, fire, air and soil. The earth became literally an integrated part of her paintings, giving pigmentation and texture in a new technique developed by the artist. From that, experience came the exhibition called “Terra” (Earth).

The exhibition “Entre Ritos e Mitos Misticos” comes to life from another interior journey of the artist. Celts, Vikings, Druids and Runes Blend in one big magical soup that touches our senses reporting us to a dimension of hidden energies.

Shamans of North, Central and South America were in the center of the spiral in earlier 2000s. After more than a month living within Brazilian Tribes (Xavantes, Karajás, Gaviões Parketegê and Assurinis), the artist reached her goal which was to participate of rituals and celebrations as well as to become familiar with their daily lives, values, perceptions and energies. She brought us the colours and shades of the Amazon Forest with her exhibition “Interiores”.

Continuing her path of ancestral traditions and mists, the artist started her searches of Nazca Lines, from the Nazca Empire in Peru. Knowing its pyramidal architecture, its sculptural and pictorial forms, its culture and spirituality, she was taken to a compilation of all pictography, arts and culture of all civilizations portrayed before and the similarity between all of them, from those relations between civilizations emerged the exhibitions “Tribos do Mundo” (Tribes of World)
